Trying to locate something and I'm having a devil of a time figuring out what to call it so I know what to look for.

What I need is an anti-slip pad with a good adhesive backing.

I looked at anti-slip tape, but I need the anti-slip part to be non-marring...more like something you would use to keep an object from sliding on a tabletop, not something like you'd use to keep from slipping on the stairs. All the anti-slip tape I can find has a sandpaper like grit to it, not a rubber-like tacky surface.

I tried friction tape, but that is great for wrapping tool handles or sports equipment. It sticks great to itself in a wrap, but doesn't really stick to anything else.

I've looked at anti-slip mats for drawer lining or rugs, but they usually aren't adhesive-backed. I guess I could glue it in place, but that will take more time than I can afford to invest.

I've looked at gasket material, which is close, but I really need something non-compressible.

Furniture grippers are the closest thing I've found to what I want, but those are generally sold pre-cut and in very small quantities. I really need a large sheet or roll of material.

Every word I can think of to describe what I need takes me to one of the things I listed above. What I'm looking for has to exist somewhere, but I'm not sure what to call it.


And if you can't help me find what I'm looking for, at least entertain me by trying to guess what it's for.
